Mewse designs and 3D prints every piece in our Sydney studio. We see 3D printing like electric cars: not the end of the road to sustainable manufacturing, but a real step forward. We print to order or in small batches, locally, with very little waste.
Little things, big joy
The maker down the road, reimagined
Remember the cobbler down the road? Things were made to fit you, and when they wore out, they were mended with care. Then making moved to the other side of the world, and replacing became easier than fixing.
3D printing changes that. No moulds, no factories, just small batches made to order, close to home. Mewse is that little maker, reimagined: designed and made in our Sydney studio.
Our studio is a small team of humans and robots, and everyone's a partner. The robot crew brings patience and precision (and never asks for a tea break). We bring the design, the finishing touches and final checks. Nothing's outsourced, so every piece is ethically made, start to finish.
And like any good cobbler, we look after what we make. A part gone wonky? We'll fix or replace it. A new design you love? Your pieces can grow with it.
The future's coming either way, so we'd love to help make it a bright one. We're putting that into practice, one little piece at a time.

Details you can see and feel
3D printing is easy to do and hard to do well. These are the details we've worked hardest on, and they're why a Mewse piece looks and feels different from other 3D prints.
Look closely
Seamless design
Most 3D prints have a little line running up one side, where the printer starts and stops. We've worked hard to make ours disappear, so every piece reads as one smooth, soft curve from every angle. Go on, give it a spin.
The little things
Built to last, and designed to stay useful
Lasting only counts if something keeps its purpose, so every Mewse piece is designed to work with the others. Stack them, mix them and move them from desk to bathroom to dresser as your life changes. Strong enough for every day, versatile enough to keep finding new jobs: the longer a piece stays useful, the fewer new things need to be made.
One of a kind
Perfectly imperfect
Every Mewse piece is printed individually, not stamped out of a mould, so no two are quite alike. You might spot a faint line, a gentle shift in colour or a tiny freckle, like the grain in timber or the glaze on handmade pottery.

Unique everywhere else
We won't throw away a good piece over a tiny mark. Mewse is about keeping lovely things affordable and sustainable, and binning perfectly good pieces would work against both. Besides, those little marks are what make it yours.

The most sustainable thing we can make is something you'll keep. So we start there, and work backwards.
Reduce
3D printing uses only the material a piece needs, so there's very little offcut to begin with.
Last
Mewse pieces are tough and endlessly rearrangeable, so they stay useful for years instead of being replaced.
Reuse
The little waste we do make gets a second life. Our Frosted Delights showpiece is made from exactly that.

Materials, honestly
We print with plant-based bioplastics made from renewable sources like corn starch. They're not a perfect solution, but like electric cars, we see them as the next step on the journey to truly sustainable manufacturing.
The comeback of locally made
The future of making will be both big and small: large factories for some things, local makers for others. We want to help lead the return of the local maker. 3D printing is flexible, so one small studio can make a wide variety of things right here in Sydney. Our pieces skip the long chain of distributors and warehouses, and go straight from our studio to your door. That means less fuel, less packaging, and no stock made that never sells.
